Our Consultation Clinic is designed to meet the needs of students who have a time-sensitive concern and/or who would benefit from a solution-focused consultation with a counselor.
Students can meet with a counselor for a brief, goal-oriented consultation session Monday-Friday from 10-11:30am & 1-3:30pm. Consultation sessions are provided on a first-come, first-served basis; no appointments are needed.
Many students attend the consultation clinic to identify approaches to address a specific concern or to determine steps to begin implementing a change. Often students find that their needs have been met during their consultation session, and that they do not need additional counseling. Typical reasons students might visit the Consultation Clinic include seeking feedback about an important decision, getting advice about helping a friend, seeking a referral to community resources, or having the opportunity to get immediate support after having an upsetting or difficult experience.
Students who are interested in ongoing group or individual counseling may still request an initial 50-minute meeting with a counselor by calling (610) 330-5005, stopping by the 2nd floor of the Bailey Health Center, or emailing us at counselingcenter@lafayette.edu.
