Melissa M. Garrison, Ph.D.

Dr. Garrison earned her B.A. in Psychology from Moravian College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from West Virginia University. She is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania. Dr. Garrison views the college experience as an exciting time of self-exploration and personal growth, often accompanied by developmental challenges. She highly values the importance of establishing a trusting relationship in order to help students openly explore their intersecting identities, process their life experiences and clarify their personal goals. She believes that increased self-awareness can help to facilitate meaningful change, leading to greater satisfaction in interpersonal relationships, a reduction in feelings of distress, and improved emotional well-being.
