Alanna earned a B.A. in both Psychology and Film & Media Studies from Yale University. She is currently a Counseling Psychology PhD student at Lehigh University. Some of her professional interests include generational trauma and healing, mental health prevention work, and creative media interventions. As a Boricua, she is driven to uplift the mental health and voices of marginalized communities. She aims to practice an empowering, strengths-based, culturally responsive counseling framework that seeks to understand individual and historical mental health contexts.
